The following are OS-specific settings for Huawei deices that may effect notifications.
Battery Optimization
Notifications may not work properly if Signal is power bucketed, or if power usage is managed in the background.
- Android phone Settings > Battery > Power saving mode and Ultra power saving mode should be disabled.
- Android phone Settings > Battery > Launch > Signal > Run in the background should be enabled.
Notification & status bar
This will change how notifications are displayed in the status bar as well as app icon badges, and floating banners at the top of the screen.
- Android phone Settings > Apps & notifications > Notifications & status bar > Notification method > icons or numbers should be chosen.
- Android phone Settings > Apps & notifications > Notifications management > Signal > all options should be enabled.
Notifications turn on screen
Your device screen will not turn on when notifications arrive if this setting is disabled.
- Android phone Settings > Apps & notifications > Notifications & status bar > "Notifications turn on screen" should be enabled.
