Pin your most important messages to the top of your 1-1 and group chats.
To pin a message:
- Open the chat where you want to pin a message.
- Press and hold the message (Android/iOS) or right-click on it (Desktop).
- Select Pin.
- Choose how long you want the message to stay pinned.
- Tap OK.
To unpin a message, follow the same steps and select Unpin.
Additional information:
- Pinned messages appear at the top of the chat and are visible to all group members who were present when the message was sent.
- Tap or click the banner to cycle pinned messages.
- Use the pin icon on the banner (or press and hold on mobile) for more options.
- Chats can have up to three pinned messages. Pinning a new one replaces the oldest.
- Pinned messages are shown in the order they were pinned, with the newest at the end.
- If message is pinned and then a new member joins the group, they won't see it. Only messages pinned after they joined will appear for the new group members.
- In group chats, admins control who can pin messages through group settings.
- Disappearing messages are automatically unpinned and removed from the chat when their timer expires.
